League Of Legends Guide: Sure To Be Awesome And Help Your Game

What's up guys? I know I haven't given any in depth posts in a few days but it is not without good reason. And you guys should be excited. I've been doing some research and within the next week I am posting up at least two things that I know you will all enjoy. One of those is the Request-A-Post spotlight blog for July titled The Evolution Of Gaming, which I've done some great research for by the way, and the other is The Game Informant's first piece of downloadable content. I wanted to do something special for you guys and since I have so many League of Legends fans that follow the blog I've decided to make a downloadable League Of Legends guide. Since I've got the tools and resources needed, it's going to be professionally made in easy-to-read PDF format. Here's a summary of what I know will be in it so far:
  • Detailed strategies for both Summoner's Rift and Twisted Treeline
  • An in depth guide on five different champions- including builds and how to play each champion effectively
  • An item guide to help choose the appropriate items for any champion in the game
  • A rune and masteries guide to help you choose the best runes and masteries for your champions
  • Sneaky and effective ways to score extra kills that the enemy won't see coming

Here is where you guys get majorly involved. What champions would you like to see go in the guide? Is there anything else you would like to see added? After all, this guide is only going to be posted as a gift for my blog followers so I want to make sure you guys get the content you want. This guide is sure to be something you will want to pick up. So get excited, give some ideas, and feel free to share this with anyone else you think might like it.

If You Don't Play League Of Legends: Why Not?

If you haven't taken my advice and played League Of Legends yet then I want you to look at something.

That's the Season One release trailer. It was awesome, wasn't it? Okay, so after watching that, tell me again why you aren't playing? You should try it, now. Happy Hunting.

Request-A-Post Winner - July

While I was hoping the contest would be a little more competitive and get more votes and input than what it received, we have come to a winner. With six votes to two, Sulfox has won the contest and it looks like the blog post you guys would like to see most is the evolution of gaming from it's start until now. So that's what you will get. I am going to begin on the research immediately and give you guys the most informative post that I can. To sulfox, congratulations! You will receive your Riot Points $10 code. You can either send me an e-mail or private message me on LoL and I will get that to you immediately. To the rest of my viewers, don't be discouraged, the Request-A-Post contest will occur again at the beginning of August. I haven't decided on what the prize will be and I was hoping that you guys could give me some ideas. Thank everyone that participated this go around and as always, happy hunting.

Voting Is Up, Good Luck Everyone

The poll has just been posted so feel free to vote on what you think the best answer is. I know originally I said I would select the top 3 answers and those would be the ones that were voted on but there were too many great answers to select from. I had trouble even selecting a top five! If you didn't get into the top five this time around, there will be a Request-A-Post challenge starting at the beginning of every month from here on out. Good luck everyone and happy voting!

Which Idea Would Make The Best Post?

Review On New League of Legends Content

Yes, Season One is here and the new League of Legends content went online today. As promised, I am here to give you guys my take on it. The first thing you will notice is the new interface, starting with the sign-in screen. Instead of the original sign-in screen, you will now see Ryze and Katrina and a fairly aesthetically pleasing backdrop. After signing in you will notice that everything about the new interface is different. To me, it may take some getting used to. I like it, but I'm not used to seeing it like that. Now when you click the play button, you will have more options than before. You can do a normal game or a ranked game, and then you have the option to enter matchmaking or use an arranged team. This option I like a lot. Now instead of playing with whoever I am matched with, I can choose to play with friends in an arranged game. I think this, plus the increased penalties on leavers and afkers, is a great solution to these uneven and handicapped games that plague LoL. Now, besides those new features, I also decided to try the new character, Xin Zhao. I played two games on Twisted Treeline and here's what I gathered:

1. He has a good attack strength.
2. As he gets up in level his health increases quite a bit (though not nearly as much as a well-fed Cho'gath).
3. His Audacious Charge ability is good for stopping and killing champions that are trying to flee.

I like the way this champion plays and he fits my style fairly well. I would say that he is a great DPS champion with decent skills; one of my only complaints with this champion is that I don't find his ultimate ability to be incredibly useful. It is just a basic AoE attack and may come in handy for killing swarms of minions or in large group battles but will definitely not be a game changer. What I am going to try to do here in the next couple of games is develop a build for him as well as what I think an ideal team for him to play on would be and I may or may not post it to the blog, depending on the amount of requests I have for it. With the release of Xin Zhao they also released two new skins for him. One is the Commando skin which is a more modernized look for him and it really reminds me of how Arnold Schwarzenegger looked in the movie predator. The other is the Imperial skin (which is shown in the above picture and is my favorite so far). This concludes my quick review on LoL's newest content. As I delve more and more into the new content I will continue to update this post and keep my readers informed. Good luck and happy hunting!

Free Game Download - The Silver Lining

Alright guys, while I was searching the web I found an awesome free game for you to try out. Have any of you ever heard of the King's Bounty games? They are really popular adventure/role-playing style computer games and they are pretty decent. Of course, they aren't free. The good news, however, is that there IS a free game that involves the King's Bounty characters. The game is titled The Silver Lining. It has been in development for the past 8 years and the first episode of this game is finally ready. I've played a little bit of it and so far it's really good, and for a free game, it is certainly prime. While it's not an online game, it is amazing, especially for a free game. You can tell the developers put a lot of time into it. Check it out for yourself here!

Request-A-Post Contest - July

This morning I decided to reward my blog followers in a new way with the Request-A-Post Contest that will from now on be held at the beginning of every month. Here's the way it works. If you're not already a follower, become a follower. Post a comment to this blog post giving your creative idea for a post that you think people would want to read about. It can be a game you want me to review and write about, a helpful gaming subject, or anything else to do with online gaming (PC only please). In five days the top 3 ideas will be selected and set up in a new post for everyone to vote on. The winner of the vote this month will receive $10 worth of Riot Points that can be used in League Of Legends. Use them to buy new characters, new outfits, XP bonuses, or anything you would like in the LoL universe. This prize will change month to month based on which prizes the readers prefer but will always have to do with online gaming. Leave some great creative ideas and as always Happy Hunting.

Greatest Simple Online Game I Have Played!

Peggle. Wow, what a name. When I was recommended to try this game I thought the person was kidding, but I decided to give it a whirl. Three hours later I realized that I was still playing... for a simple free online game, Peggle is a definate winner. If you've never played, the object of the game is to destroy blocks with little metal balls. Sounds easy, right? Well, it starts off that way. The game only gives you eight balls per level and with those eight balls you must eliminate all of the blocks. I thought I was the Peggle King until I got about fifteen levels in and lost... but I picked up my pride and came back to finish out the game (which is fifty-five levels of block busting fun). The graphics are great for a block busting game and the blocks are arranged into cool looking shapes. It even has a cast of goofy characters that you play against. You can check out Peggle for free here. Oh, and if any of you have played a simple game that's more fun than Peggle leave me a link so I can check it out.

Game Update: New League Of Legends Content Coming Out

Fellow gamers, I've decided to post not only about new games that are coming out but to also include posts for new or improved content that is coming out for some of the great free games out there. So here's the scoop for all my League Of Legends players out there. In the upcoming week they are releasing their Season One update as well as a new champion. You heard right, they are releasing another new champion. One thing's for sure. Riot Games is staying hard at work keeping all of us happy with blazing new content. So let's get into and break down the new stuff that's going to be introduced in the Season One update. This update will definately up the competition level within League of Legends and is sure to keep players interested. First off, with the Season One update they are going to offer ranked games for summoners level 20 or above. With the ranked games, those who choose to play will have their ratings publicly displayed on a ladder so they and everyone else can see how they stack up against the rest of the community. Now tell me this won't give incentive to better your skills and strategies? On top of the addition of a ladder and ranked games, Riot is also giving League of Legends a virtual facelift to make it look smoother and more appealing. Now all of this has me very excited, but what I am most excited about is the new champion they will be releasing, so let me give you some details. From what I've read on the League of Legends site and the PC Gamer article, Xin Zhao, League of Legend's newest champion, is a throwback to the original mixed martial artists. He uses a spear-type weapon and his moves and attacks are focused on causing damage and slowing the enemy down so that he can go in for the kill. Overall I think he will be a strong pure DPS champion that can kill quickly but only take on one enemy at a time. It's an understatement to say I'm very excited about the newest content coming to League of Legends. You guys should be too!

Play Your Favorite Classic Games Online.... For Free

For months now I have been dying to go back and replay through some of my favorite childhood games but the cost of the older gaming systems and older games has put me off. Recently I found a play through these games and do it for free. While searching through google the other night I ran across a free toolbar that let me play the game that I had been fiending for, the original Super Mario Bros. It also enabled me to play another one of my timeless favorites, Sonic the Hedgehog. Using the keyboard instead of the controller did take a little bit of getting used to, but once I did I found myself completely lost in memory lane. The nostalgia I felt was great and halfway through the day I found myself still playing. If you're like me and you miss those classic games and he feelings they gave you then you should check it out.

Awesome Free Game - League Of Legends

It's not often I find a single game that can pique my interest enough to make me want to rave about it, especially one that's free. However, League Of Legends has done just that. League of Legends was created modeling DoTA, a very widely used Warcraft III mod. If you have never heard of DoTA, don't feel bad. I hadn't either when I began playing. However the game is simple to catch on to, it just takes a little time and tweaking to master. It's a MOBA (Multiplayer Online Battle Arena) with over 40 completely different and unique champions to choose from. When I say unique, I mean unique. You can choose to play a pirate named Gangplank, a mummy named Anunu, or even be a werewolf named Warwick. Don't fret over which champion you choose the first battle because you get to reselect your champion every match you play. On to the gameplay. They currently offer two maps, a 5 vs 5 and 3 vs 3. The 3 vs 3 is perfect if you are have a limited amount of time to play or if you are just starting out since they are typically much shorter than the 5 vs 5. The game is completely free and they give you 10 champions to choose from at a time. These champions rotate every week to a set of 10 different champions, keeping you on your toes, entertained, and trying new strategies. If you find that you are really set on a certain champion you do have the option of purchasing RP (Riot Points) and unlocking champions for you to own permanently, however I have been completely content with playing the 10 free champions I'm given every week. The RP can also be used to unlock outfits or bonuses. New content and playable characters are also released every other week so you are guaranteed to never get bored. Try League Of Legends out for yourself and let me know what you think. If you like any kind of action/hack and slash/RPG, then trust me, you won't be dissappointed.
Also, if you try LoL and like it, leave a comment on my page or send me an e-mail and I will add you to my newsletter which includes helpful hints and tips as well as strategies and builds for LoL. Good luck and happy hunting.

Best FREE Online Gaming Site

Finally. There is a site that lets me play free online games from my web browser AND download free games to my computer. Not only that but they have a VERY broad selection of games ranging from classic Mario titles to the great puzzle games that I like so much. It allows me to play there and never get bored because I can always play something different and new. What I like best, and you probably will too, is that I don't have to get online to play some of the games. I can download them to my computer and play them from there whenever I want so that I don't have to go through all the hassle of getting online and finding it. Play Sushi is great with a great community and wide variety of free incredibly fun games. It has quickly become my favorite free gaming site and I strongly urge you to give it a try and let me know what you think.

Awesome Free Gaming Toolbar

Everyone has those moments. Moments where you have a little bit of time to spend and don't know how to spend them. Boredom. Online games can be the perfect way to enjoy that time. There is a large variety out there; there is definitely something for everyone no matter what kind of genre you are into. They are awesome ways to relax and enjoy your time and the best thing is a majority of them are free. There is such a wide variety and so many games that sometimes it can be hard to find what you want to play. You may want a puzzle game but don't want to spend hours searching the internet to find it. I completely agree. Sometimes you only have five minutes and want to play a game right now. This weekend I ran across the answer. A totally free toolbar with hundreds of amazing free games in every genre imaginable. It's got great games like mahjong, suduko, collapse, football, pool and they're totally free and accessible right from the toolbar. It makes it so much easier to play my favorite online games.
